Experience Hendrix 2019 Tour Dates And Lineup Announced

The all-star lineup has been announced for the 2019 Experience Hendrix tour with some new names making an appearance.

The Experience Hendrix tour is a celebration of the musical genius that was Jimi Hendrix. What began as a one-off tribute show at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame back in 2000, is now a full-blown tour drawing many of the biggest names in rock and blues to honor the late artist.

The 2019 tour has been announced and will include 30-dates across the US each showcasing many of the best musicians in the business for three whole hours of Hendrix’ hits. This tour always has an impressive lineup and this one is no exception with Joe Satriani and Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine. Jonny Lang and Dweezil Zappa will also be returning for the upcoming dates.

Satriani is making his long-awaited return to the tour and is clearly looking forward to being back on board. “The Experience Hendrix Tours are always so much fun. The camaraderie between all the musicians on the show is magical. I’m so excited to play some deep Hendrix tracks in a power trio setting with dUg Pinnick and Kenny Aronoff!!!”

The 2019 tour will be Mustaine’s first time with the all-star lineup.  “Jimi Hendrix. The name that comes to my mind as one the ‘Premiere American Guitarists Of All Time.’ An Innovator, and legendary musician, I am beyond honored to do my part in this tribute to the immortal Jimi Hendrix, and want to thank [EH Tour producer] John McDermott for inviting me to play along with such mind-blowing guitarists as Joe Satriani, and a personal favorite of mine, Eric Johnson. See you there!”

You don’t have to wait until next year to start the celebrations as the Deluxe Edition box set of Electric Ladyland from Experience Hendrix, L.L.C. and Legacy Recordings will be released on November 9 to mark the 50th anniversary of its release. The box sets will be available as both a 3 CD/1 Blu-ray set and a 6 LP/1 Blu-ray set and will include demos and studio outtakes. They will also include Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At the Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68 well as the feature-length documentary At Last…The Beginning: The Making of Electric Ladyland.

Tickets for the tour go on sale tomorrow and everyone who purchases a pair of tickets purchased online will receive a copy of the Both Sides of the Sky CD.

With a lineup like this, this is one show you do not want to miss.
