In anticipation of their sixth studio album, Lifeforms, Angels & Airwaves hit the road for their first tour since 2019 this September.
Angels & Airwaves released their new record on Sept. 24 and began touring on Sept. 29. The 10-song album draws influences from several artists, including Depeche Mode. Lead singer Tom DeLonge covers several different topics, but his punk rock roots also shine through on Lifeforms. DeLonge, a founding member of Blink-182, formed Angels & Airwaves in 2005.
Angels & Airwaves has charted numerous hits, including “The Adventure,” “The War,” “Everything’s Magic” and “Rebel Girl.” Their fifth studio album, The Dream Walker, hit No. 1 on iTunes and No. 5 on Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums chart when it came out in 2014. The record was accompanied by a graphic novel and comic books and the short film Poet Anderson, which was co-directed by DeLonge. The film went on to win Best Animated Short Film at the Toronto International Short Film Festival.
Away from music, the AVA frontman launched To The Stars, a multimedia entertainment company that produces original content across music, film, TV and publishing. DeLonge additionally served as an executive producer on The History Channel series, Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation. He will also make his directorial film debut with the upcoming series, Monsters of California.
As well as DeLonge, other members of Angels & Airwaves include Ilan Rubin (drums/guitar/backing vocals/synths), David Kennedy (guitar) and Matt Rubano (bass).
