“Do What You Can” is the new single from the upcoming album, 2020, which is set for release on October 2nd.
Bon Jovi’s upcoming album was set for release in May to accompany their world tour, but the pandemic put pay to those plans. The album was pushed back to October 2nd, and now includes two additional songs which were inspired by the pandemic and the racial equality movement stemming from the death of George Floyd.
“Do What You Can” is one of the new songs and sprung to Jon Bon Jovi’s mind during the early quarantine days when he was helping out at his JBJ Soul Kitchen Community Restaurant in Red Bank, NJ. Jon Bon Jovi took to the empty streets of New York City to shoot the video for the new single.
“Shooting a video on nearly empty streets of Manhattan amid a global crisis really told the story of “Do What You Can” from the place where I lived it. And I know those empty streets look similar to so many parts of America battling this pandemic. But the story of everyday heroes showing amazing courage was inspiring to see and the video, much like the song, has a great deal of hope in it too.”
