Warren Zeiders at Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center in Charleston, WV

Warren Zeiders’ Pretty Little Poison Tour finally made it to Charleston after being rescheduled and a venue change from earlier this year.

Clayton Mullen and his band took the stage to an eagerly awaiting crowd. He is a rising country music star and is one of the newest artists to watch. Clayton has a five-piece band, including himself, with nice melodic guitars with strong vocals. Those in attendance showed up early to hear songs like “Rainin’ in Dallas,” a nice slow-building, driving country ballad, and “Heart Don’t Break Itself.” The band ended their 40-minute set and hit their stride on “Whiskey On It.” The crowd sang along with every song and that clearly shows that Clayton Mullen is one to watch!

The Pretty Little Poison Tour was originally planned to be at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium in February 2024 but right before the concert, the building was shut down due to some massive electrical issues which resulted in the show being canceled. The tour and the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center worked hard to get the show rescheduled at the much larger venue. Originally, approx 3,300 tickets were sold but with the venue change, the tour was able to sell additional tickets and over 5,000 concert-goers attended the show.

Warren Zeiders is the 2024 CMT Award winner for Breakthrough Male Video of the Year award for “Pretty Little Poison.” After a slight delay to allow additional time for a large line that wrapped halfway around the building to be seated, Warren took the stage and every fan was on their feet for the next 80 minutes. From the crowd’s reaction, moving to the large venue, even just by chance, was the right move. This show had a large major tour headliner feel and audience engagement was amazing throughout. A few songs in, the band starts their song “Pain Killer” and the arena erupts in a word-for-word singalong. In between songs, Warren says this is his biggest headlining show to date and the stage went red, cell phones light up the arena and the crowd continues in a massive singalong with “Heartbreaker.” This song has the stadium feel and translates well to the larger venue. The arena goes black as you start to hear keys and a bellowing guitar and Warren yells out, “Where are all my ladies at tonight? This song is for you.” “Weeping Willow” demands the undivided attention of the audience and after the gripping guitar solo, the music cuts and Warren leads the Coliseum in a power chorus without music. This is an amazing moment, especially when they get to the line “She can make shining diamond, out of West Virginia coal.”

After this song, lights cut to a silhouette of Warren twirling a bra that was thrown onto the stage as he goes into the song “Relapse” which is also very powerful and leads right into “Never Look Back,” a swaggy, slow southern groove. A few more songs and then the band hits their music euphoria with the tour title, “Pretty Little Poison.” Magic fills the air along with what seems like every single cell phone in the arena lit up and a roaring wall of sound from every voice in attendance. This song and moment were chill bumps worthy! The band ends their set with “Burn It Down” and heads off stage.

To a demanding crowd still insistent for the show to go on, Warren and the band come out for a rockin’ encore. Zeiders comes onto the stage shirtless to “Enter Sandman” and then a rocked-out fusion version with “Man In The Box.” They end with “Ride The Lightning.” This show was amazing from start to finish and if you get a chance to see this tour, run, don’t walk, as you will not be disappointed.
