Seven Kingdoms at Come and Take It Live in Austin, TX

Powerhouse metal band Seven Kingdoms brought an electrifying performance to Austin’s Come and Take It Live, delivering a night of soaring vocals and intense riffs.

Seven Kingdoms had four openers to get their crowd going before their grand performance. The first of the night was heavy metal band Knights of Darkness. Knights of Darkness is local to Austin and started the night off right. They did an amazing job at setting an example of what was to come.

Following Knights of Darkness was Böne, also a heavy metal band based in Austin. The band is made up of five members. Böne has one full-length self-titled album that was released in 2021. They played their originals such as “Remain the Alpha” and “Rust.”

The next opener was, you guessed it, another heavy metal band, Lutharo. The Canadian thrash metal band was formed in 2014 and consists of members Krista Shipperbottom (vocals), Victor Bucur (guitar), Chris Pacey (bass), and Cory Hofing (drums). They just released a new album called Chasing Euphoria in March. They opened with “Ruthless Bloodline” one of the songs from their recent album. They also played the title track from their 2020 EP, Wings of Agony. The set was filled with insane riffs and dynamic vocals. Krista charmed the crowd with her confidence and brilliant stage presence. They closed their set with “Lost in a Soul” from their debut album Hiraeth

After Lutharo was STRIKER, another heavy metal Canadian-based band. STRIKER is known for their blend of 80s-style hard rock. They formed in 2017 and are now made up of John Simon Fallon, Dan Cleary, Jon Webster, Tim Brown, and Pete Klassen. In 2020, their album Play to Win won the Juno Award for Heavy Metal Album of the Year. In February, the band released their seventh studio album, titled Ultrapower. They opened their set with the first two tracks from their latest album, “Circle of Evil” and “BEST of the BEST of the BEST.” Before performing “Phoenix Lights,” Cleary announced, “I am going to stop drinking for good. I am now going to start drinking for evil,” which got a roaring laugh from the crowd. They closed their energetic set with “Heart of Lies.”

The final show of the night was headliner, Seven Kingdoms. Seven Kingdoms is an American thrash metal band. The band formed in 2007 after two of the members split ways with their previous band. The four members that make up the band are Camden Cruz (guitar), Kevin Byrd (guitar), Keith Byrd (drums), Sabrina Valentine (vocals), and Aaron Sluss (bass). Only a few days before their show in Austin, they released a five-track EP titled The Square, but they have a few full-lengths albums already released. During their set, they played songs such as “The Square” and “Diamond Handed.”

The crew did a short run of Texas before heading out to the rest of the country on their Shredding North American Tour. Next year, Seven Kingdoms and STRIKER are planning on traveling to Europe with Unleash the Archers as supporting artists.
