PinkPantheress at Emo’s in Austin, TX

Emo’s in Austin, Texas was in for a treat when UK-based singer, PinkPantheress, put on an exhilarating and fun show.

While on The Capable of Love Tour, PinkPantheress brought her bedroom pop tunes to her southern fans. Having started as a self-taught producer, she has amassed a huge following on social media. In 2020, she started posting her work on SoundCloud, but it wasn’t until she posted a snippet of her song “Just a Waste” on TikTok that her career took off. Since then, a few more of her songs have gone viral, including “Break It Off” and “Pain.” The latter of the two also charted Top 50 on the UK Singles Chart. She’s worked with the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Willow, and Beabadoobee and has also opened and toured with Halsey. In October of 2023, PinkPantheress debuted her latest album, Heaven Knows. After she finishes the North American leg of her headlining tour, she is scheduled to join Olivia Rodrigo and open for her Fall tour.

Starting the night at about 8 PM was 18-year-old rapper, Kanii. Also known for his virality on TikTok, in 2023 the artist had his single “I Know” go viral on the app. This was also his first single to chart Billboards’ Top 100. In February of 2024, Kanii released an EP, The Heart Racers with Riovaz and Nimstar. During his set, he kept the crowd lively with his electronic beats and played songs such as “sins (let me in)” and “Go (Xtayalive 2).” Kanii also played an unreleased song, “MIA,” and asked the audience if he should drop it to which, of course, everyone enthusiastically cheered “Yes.”

After a 30-minute wait between sets, PinkPantheress finally took the stage. She opened strong with a fan favorite “Break It Off,” her second single from her record to hell with it (2021). She also played the tracks “Pain” and “Passion” from the album. She made a point of switching it up between albums and EPs, performing songs from each. She also performed her 2021 single “Attracted To You.” Noticeably, her fans liked to throw gifts to her on stage. Two people gave her shirts and someone even threw a handbag up there that they wanted her to have.

As her set neared the end of her set, she played her hits “Blue,” “Picture In My Mind,” and closed with “Boys a Liar Pt. 2.” Of course, everyone in the building screamed the iconic Ice Spice verse. To everyone’s surprise, she returned to the stage for an encore. During her encore, she sang two more songs from her recent album Heaven Knows, “Internet Baby (interlude)” and “Nice to Meet You” which features artist Central Cee on the recorded track.

PinkPantheress truly brings an unmatched presence that attracts her peers. She’s beautiful, charming, and knows how to command a crowd like nobody’s business. PinkPantheress only has two more shows before her tour comes to an end. If you’re not able to make it to either of those, don’t worry she’ll be back later this year. Ten out of ten recommend seeing this Gen-Z sweetheart perform live.
