Makeout at The Social in Orlando, FL

The Figure It Out Tour was a perfect blend of pop-punk. Makeout and 408 came through The Social in Orlando, Florida just as the tour was coming to an end.

The crowd started chanting “Welcome home, 408” as Mark, Nick, Jake, and Nick took the stage that faced a crowd filled with friends, family, and fans. The cheers tripled in volume as their set started. They played some of their most popular songs like “Drama King,” “Heartbreak Anniversary,” and “Nice to Meet You” from their 2022 album Out Of It. “Drama King” brings the most energy to the set with beach balls flying into the crowd with “stupid little bitch boy” written on them. The crowd went wild. They set the pop-punk mood for the evening in the jam-packed venue.

After parting ways with their previous vocalist in 2019, Makeout had to gruelingly search to find the right someone to fit the sound and the overall energy of the band until Kyle Dee came along in 2020. The Figure It Out Tour is Makeout’s first headlining tour with their new vocalist who puts a whole new spin on their music. The anticipation was obvious as everybody started piling up by the stage, but don’t worry, they didn’t keep the packed room waiting long.

Phones lit up the room as Scott Eckel took his seat by his drums. Jumping into the set, Makeout performed a few new songs and some throwbacks from their previous album The Good Life. The setlist included a few fan favorites. Of course, this included the singles “Wish U Were Here,” ” Home,” and “Lisa.” As the room lit up with vibrant colors, the audience’s vibe was out of the world with the setlist only being high-energy bangers. The band decided to dedicate their song “Ride It Out” to their friends who got married earlier that day. They took to Instagram to post a video of the crowd joining them in wishing and congratulating the lucky couple.

When the sea of people was chanting “Makeout” in support of the band, you just knew people weren’t ready for the night to be over. Yet, of course, the night had to come to an end. The closing song of the night was “Crazy” from the album The Good Life, released in 2017. This song is one of their biggest hits and one of Makeout’s most-known songs with Spotify receiving over sixteen million listens.

Truly, the best part about the show is how they hang out after the set and talk with fans while taking photos, signing shirts, posters, and even limbs! Letting their fans know just how thankful they are for them. Even after being on tour for the last month, they keep looking at it through rose-tinted glasses and are preparing for more tours later this year.
