Enter Shikari at The Social in Orlando, FL

British rock band Enter Shikari came to the US with a BANG ready to show North America and Canada what covid made us miss.

This is just the beginning of the tour with still a month left to go and let’s just say they deliver a show you won’t forget. The Enter Shikari tour arrived in Orlando, Florida along with the UK punk rock band Trash Boat and the unbelievably talented Aviva.

Los Angeles-based Australian artist Aviva was the opener and when the lights went down, the crowd went crazy. Her high-energy performance had people off their feet and dancing to the music. Aviva, of course, played the song that made her go viral in 2017, “GRRRLS,” and the crowd, even people who had never heard it, left singing the words. She was just what the show needed to hype up the sold-out room.

This UK punk rock band of five, Trash Boat, hasn’t been in the US since their tour in October of 2019. Being influenced by Enter Shikari made them the perfect supporting act for this tour. They took the stage by storm as screams filled the venue. Tobi Duncan (lead vocals) started the show on a high with a fan favorite “Silence is Golden.” Most of what was played was from their latest release Don’t you feel Amazing. As Trash Boat continued down their setlist, the room was jammed with mosh pits and crowd surfing. Tobi, Dann Ryan, James, and Oakley ended their set with their biggest hit “ Strangers” which made the crowd go insane and gave a flawless ending to their performance.

The lights went down and the crowd went mental. It was time, Enter Shikari ran out and just got into it with “THE GREAT UNKNOWN” from Nothing is True and Everything is Possible which was released in 2020. Talk about captivating a crowd, Enter Shikari’s setlist gave us nostalgia and mind-blowing new music from their discography.

Their component parts are Rou, Rory, Chris, and Rob. There was just one thing missing though, Rob Rolfe. It was announced that he couldn’t make it due to having problems with his VISA. However, even without him, they gave their all as they await his arrival to join the tour. Rou Reynolds didn’t waste any time. He was everywhere he could be on stage, making sure everyone was dancing along. In his words, “You better be dancing with me, Florida.”

After a few songs, Rou decided the stage wasn’t big enough and joined the crowd as he sang from the bar, tables, and stair railings. As the show went on, they sang some fan favorites like ”The Pressure’s On” and “Rabble Rouser.” Enter Shikari walked off stage and just when you thought they might not come back out, they had a change of guitars and loss of some shirts and came back to play an encore of “The Dreamer’s Hotel” and “Live Outside.” Their alternative rock, electronic rock, and post-hardcore sound gave the crowd exactly what they needed to move to the music and scream their lungs out for an hour and a half.
