D4vd at Emo’s in Austin, TX

D4vd’s concert at Emo’s in Austin, TX, was an unforgettable experience filled with an electrifying performance and an amazing atmosphere.

Indie-alternative singer d4vd has only been making music for a short time. The nineteen-year-old started making his own music in 2021 to avoid getting copyrighted on his Fortnite montages he would edit together. Before his music went viral, the young artist released his music on Soundcloud. It wasn’t until 2022 that he went viral on TikTok after releasing the single “Romantic Homicide.” After its success, he signed with Interscope Records. Since then, he has had the opportunity to release his debut album Petals To Thorns. His most recent release was his single “Feel It,” made for Amazon Prime’s series Invincible in March.

Opening for the artist is Californian-born singer/songwriter Scott James. He has released a few EPs and even a full-length album titled Fun (2020). Scott James’ most recent single, “Count On Me,” came out in December 2023. He played a few of his originals and as he came to the end of his set fans cheered for him to play “One of a Kind.” He responded to the crowd that he had never had fan requests before and it meant a lot that people wanted to hear his music. His set was chill and relaxed. The solo artist performed by himself and lulled the audience to silence as they gave their entire attention to him. He completely contrasted d4vd’s show to come.

At 9 PM, d4vd began his set. He opened with “Take Me to the Sun” his 2022 single. Right off the bat, the entire building was filled with energy. During “Bleed Out,” d4vd did a backflip, which was only the first of the many waiting. He performed other songs such as “Don’t Forget About Me” and “This is How it Feels” from his 2023 album release Petals to Thorns. Before starting “Here With Me,” d4vd told the audience about how he started. He told everyone that he used to record his songs in his little sister’s closet. He then invited his little sister, who couldn’t have been older than 10, onto the stage to sing with him.

For his performance of “WORTHLESS,” d4vd invited a fan onto stage to sing with him. The fan was a natural and seemingly had an amazing time up there in front of the crowd. He played other songs such as “Fly Away” and “This House is Not a Home.” Before the show ended, he asked Scott James back onto the stage to perform an unreleased song together. The song was titled “There Goes My Baby.” d4vd hinted that the song would be dropped next month, which excited fans. He closed his set with the song that started it all, “Romantic Homicide.” d4vd will be on his My House is Not a Home Tour through the rest of the month before heading to Europe to wrap up his travels.
