Crowded House at The Astro in La Vista, NE

It was an absolutely beautiful night to be outdoors at The Astro Amphitheater seeing Crowded House and Liam Finn perform.

The Astro is a newer venue in La Vista, NE, which has facilities for both outdoor and indoor concerts. The outdoor section is spacious, allowing people plenty of room to walk around with others and enjoy the music. Artists across a variety of genres have performed there.

Crowded House is a rock band who have been releasing music since the 1980s. The band is known for their hits “Don’t Dream It’s Over” and “Something So Strong.” They are currently on their Gravity Stairs Tour to support their most recent album.

The extremely talented Liam Finn, son of Crowded House’s vocalist Neil Finn, was the opener for this day. Liam is also a member of Crowded House. The audience got to enjoy watching him perform while the sun was setting. Not only did Liam’s voice sound incredible but he also plays multiple instruments to his songs during his set. The artist did not need anyone else on stage with him. Throughout the night, he was seen playing guitar and drums, and using looper pedals to add to his songs. Seeing Liam play his lengthy guitar and drum solos caught the audience’s attention, to which he joked, “That was just the soundcheck.” After the 30-minute set, the crowd rose out of their seats and gave him a well-deserved standing ovation. Liam himself was the only opener that night, and he was all that was needed. His unique set sparked the audience’s attention and kept them interested throughout the entire performance.

Liam’s new album Hyperverse will be released in November of this year.

The audience sat back down and waited patiently in their seats. When the lights went up and Crowded House walked on stage, the audience rose from their seats with thunderous applause. Throughout the night, people were swaying and dancing to the music that brought them together. As the night went on, the applause got louder and louder after every song. This was especially true after the song “Private Universe” was performed. The audience sang and echoed the lyrics back to “Weather With You,” which also received a standing ovation. At the end of their set, the band delivered a three-song encore for the crowd. Their sound was flawless the entire night, and combined with the great weather, it was the perfect night to be in La Vista, Nebraska.

The Gravity Stairs Tour will continue in different parts of the world throughout the rest of this year.
